Strange objects misbehave, cards refuse to cooperate, and guests become part of the mystery.

I'm Timothy Starnes, a comedy magician serving the east coast from my home of Charlotte, North Carolina to Bachelorette parties in Asheville, Lake Lure, Myrtle Beach, Savannah, and beyond. I combine close-up magic with the atmosphere of a haunted parlor and the manners of a man who really should know better.
I like my mysteries intimate, my humor dark, and my audiences very much alive. My night visitors are less particular. I can never promise who (or what) will choose to drop in or what they’ll (it’ll) do.

Yes. My adult birthday magic shows are for audiences 18 and up. Tell me about the guest of honor, where you're celebrating, and how many people are coming so we can plan the tone and setup.
Is this magic show for adults?
Yes. Performances are for audiences ages 18 and up, with dark comedy, eerie stories, and audience interaction. Tell me about your crowd and its appetite for the spooky so we can agree on the tone. The children can keep the balloon animals. We've got other problems.
Is the séance a mediumship reading?
No. This is theatrical séance entertainment: magic, storytelling, and comedy presented as a brush with the uncanny. I don't offer direct mediumship readings or promise contact with deceased loved ones. The mystery is part of the show.
What space does close-up magic need? What space does a séance show need?
Intimate shows can work around a table; a bar or venue appearance can use a dedicated performance spot. Tell me your guest count and describe the space, and we'll agree on the setup before booking. A crumbling ancestral mansion is optional.
Do you perform outside Charlotte?
I perform throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia regularly. If your event is farther away, send the city and venue with your inquiry so we can discuss availability, travel, and any related costs. I will travel.
What does it cost to hire a magician usually? What does it cost to hire you?
Your quote depends on the event date, location, performance format, and duration. That’s true for any magician. Call or text with those details to get started. A signed agreement and booking retainer reserve your date; the agreement sets out your payment schedule and event terms. Until then, we're just flirting with the supernatural.
