Charlotte Client Appreciation Entertainment: Give Them Something Worth Talking About

Give clients something to discuss that doesn’t end with a slide deck. Fit comedy magic and con games around conversation, dinner, and introductions.

Your clients have already sat through the presentation. They know what your company does. At the appreciation event, they might enjoy a conversation that doesn’t end with “I’ll send you the deck.”

Comedy magic for a Charlotte client appreciation event gives guests something to share beyond the business relationship. A con game invites them to follow the action, make a judgment, and watch that judgment develop a regrettable relationship with reality. People have something to react to together before the next round of introductions.

I’m Timothy Starnes, necromancer and comedy conjurer, a trained comedy and bar magician based in Charlotte. You can book cards, props, con games, bar bets, and dice magic for a client gathering. My comedy séance is another option, but it does not have to be part of the event.

Make room for conversation

A client appreciation evening has more than one job. Hosts need time to welcome people. Clients may want to speak privately with their account contact. Dinner, drinks, and introductions need space to happen.

I work from a dedicated performance station where guests can join when they’re interested. The organizer can direct people toward it, and clients who are in the middle of a conversation can finish before coming over.

For a seated client dinner, we can discuss a planned performance window after plates have been cleared. For a reception, the station can be available during an agreed portion of the gathering. The room and schedule determine which arrangement makes sense.

Let participation be comfortable

Clients don’t owe the company a performance of their own. Some will want to make every decision. Others will happily watch someone else discover that being certain and being correct are entirely different hobbies.

Tell me who is attending and how well people know one another. We’ll discuss the tone before the event, including any sensitivities or topics to avoid. My performances are for adults 18 and up, but that doesn’t mean every corporate room wants the same degree of dark humor.

The entertainment can involve the group without becoming a roast of the person who signs the renewal. That seems like a reasonable business policy.

Choose the material for the room

Con games, bar bets, and dice magic give a client reception an interactive focus. Guests can track the action and test their instincts while the comedy keeps the experience social. Traditional comedy magic with cards and props can also be part of the booking.

These are theatrical demonstrations of the hustler’s art. Book them for entertainment; they are not a professional fraud-prevention course or a promise of stronger sales performance.

Finally, some corporate deception you can put on the entertainment budget.

For a more intimate private dinner, a theatrical séance may suit the group if the host and guests want that atmosphere. It requires two hours and works best with roughly 10–15 people, or as many as the dining table comfortably accommodates. The show selection guide explains how the formats differ.

Coordinate with the people running the event

Before booking, tell me the expected attendance, venue, and schedule for food, remarks, and entertainment. Include the venue contact’s setup requirements and let me know whether other entertainment will be running at the same time.

I ask for a table and three chairs, or a coffee table with suitable audience seating in front and to the sides. I don’t use a sound system. Choose a position where guests can hear and see without obstructing food service or the bar.

I usually spend one to two hours at a client party; we can adjust the duration to the event. For larger gatherings, we’ll plan how smaller groups use the station rather than assume the full room will watch close-up magic at once.

Request a client event quote

My rate is $500 per hour, with a two-hour minimum for parties outside the Charlotte, NC area. We’ll confirm the format, travel arrangements, and total before you commit. A signed agreement and booking retainer reserve the date.

Text Tim at 704-698-7286 with your date, venue, attendance, and preferred performance window, or review the corporate event magic booking information.

Tell me about the room, the people, and how strange you want the evening to get. We can leave the quarterly forecast out of it.
