Asheville Bachelorette Party Entertainment: A Private Night In Worth Haunting

A private Asheville night in gives the bride time with her favorite people. Plan the rental, seating, travel, and choice of comedy magic or séance.

The bachelorette itinerary has reached its fourth revision. Someone wants another reservation. Someone wants to change shoes. The bride would quite like to see the people who came to celebrate her.

A private night in gives an Asheville bachelorette weekend room to breathe. Have dinner, pour the drinks, and bring the entertainment to a suitable home or rental. Private bachelorette magic gives the group a shared experience without adding another stop to the evening.

I’m Timothy Starnes, a Charlotte-based comedy magician who travels to Asheville and other destinations along the East Coast. I’m most known for Timothy Starnes & His Many Night Visitors, my comedy séance show, and I’m also a trained comedy and bar magician. Your group can choose traditional comedy magic, con games, a séance, or a mix.

Plan around the address where you are actually staying

An Asheville weekend might put your group downtown, in a nearby neighborhood, or at a mountain rental outside the city. The address matters more than the destination name on the group chat.

Before setting the show time, work backward from dinner and the trip back to the property. If you spend the afternoon exploring downtown or the River Arts District, leave enough time for the whole group to return and settle in. Check current routes and transportation for your actual plans. Explore Asheville’s transportation guide is a useful starting point.

Send me the property address, parking information, and any gate, driveway, or stair-access details. I travel from Charlotte; I’m not claiming a second home inside your rental’s decorative armoire. Clear access information helps us plan arrival and setup properly.

Get permission before booking entertainment at a rental

Ask the host or property manager whether your specific gathering and an outside entertainer are permitted. Give them the head count and explain what you are planning. Confirm guest limits, quiet hours, parking, and any restrictions on visitors who are not staying overnight.

If you booked through Airbnb, also review its Community Disturbance Policy. It prohibits disruptive gatherings and open-invite parties. Host permission does not override the platform’s rules.

A private performance still needs an appropriate, permitted setting. Get that settled before paying deposits for separate parts of the weekend. Our vacation-rental entertainment guide covers the broader planning checklist.

Choose the evening the bride would actually enjoy

For a sociable gathering, comedy close-up magic or con games can give guests a station to visit during the evening. People can watch and participate on their own terms. Cards, props, bar bets, and dice provide plenty of trouble without requiring a séance.

For a group that wants a shared haunted-parlor experience, make the two-hour comedy séance the centerpiece. Spirit magic, storytelling, dark comedy, and audience involvement give everyone something better to discuss than who wasn’t invited.

The séance is theatrical entertainment, not a mediumship reading or a promise of contact with deceased loved ones. All my performances are for adults 18 and up. Tell me how your group feels about spooky material and how much attention the bride enjoys.

Check the seating before the pretty view

A rental that sleeps twelve does not necessarily seat twelve people comfortably around a performance. Look at the actual dining or living area before deciding on the format.

I ask for three chairs and a table, or a coffee table with ample audience seating in front and to the sides. I don’t use a sound system. For a séance, I suggest about 10–15 guests, or as many as the dining table can comfortably accommodate. Send photographs if you are unsure how the room would work.

Choose a time when dinner service and cleanup won’t compete with the show. If the séance is the main event, leave its full two-hour window open. The spirits have enough personality problems without being rushed out for a dinner reservation.

What an Asheville booking costs

My rate is $500 per hour, with a two-hour minimum outside the Charlotte, NC area. For Asheville, that means a minimum performance fee of $1,000. We’ll discuss travel and confirm the full booking total before you reserve. A two-hour séance meets that performance minimum; it does not create a separate two-hour charge on top.
