I'm Timothy Starnes, a Charlotte magician, necromancer, and comedy conjurer. My signature two-hour comedy séance show brings spirit magic, mind reading, haunted storytelling, and dark comedy to your private party. I'm most known for this show, which I tour along the East Coast.

Some people bring wine to a party. I bring things that should have stayed buried. In Timothy Starnes & His Many Night Visitors, the atmosphere of a haunted parlor meets a comedy magician who really should know better.
Spirit magic, mind reading, and haunted storytelling take your guests through the world of séances, spiritualism, and spirit manifestations. Strange objects misbehave. Cards refuse to cooperate. Your guests become part of the mystery, close enough to have very confident opinions about it. Those are my favorite opinions to inconvenience.
A private séance party suits adults who want to gather for a shared, eerie, funny experience. Bring it to a bachelorette celebration, an adult birthday, or a dinner party with friends. Tell me about the guest of honor and your group’s appetite for the spooky.
This is theatrical entertainment, not a mediumship reading. I do not offer direct readings or promise contact with deceased loved ones. No particular spiritual belief is needed. The mystery belongs to the show; the actual people in the room come first.
Before we conjure anything

Give the séance a clear place in your evening. We’ll agree on the room, timing, and tone before you book.
The time
The séance requires two hours. Share your dinner schedule, speeches, or other plans so we can agree on where the show fits. If you prefer a shorter visit, ask about comedy close-up magic or con games.
The group
I suggest 10–15 guests, or as many as your dining table can comfortably accommodate. For a larger group, send the guest count and describe the room so we can agree on the right arrangement.
The room
I ask for three chairs and a table to work from, or a coffee table with ample audience seating in front and to the sides. No sound system is used. Describe any competing noise and we’ll confirm arrival and setup timing.
The company
Performances are for adults 18+. Tell me how your guests feel about joining in, being the center of attention, and spooky material. The tone should fit the living. The other visitors remain a management problem.

$500 per hour. Parties outside the Charlotte, NC area have a two-hour minimum.

How much does a private comedy séance cost?
My rate is $500 per hour, and the séance requires two hours, making the two-hour performance fee $1,000. We’ll confirm any travel costs and your total quote before booking. Parties outside the Charlotte, NC area also have a two-hour minimum.
Can the séance be part of a birthday or bachelorette party?
Yes. We can make it the centerpiece of your celebration or discuss a mixture of material. Allow the two hours needed for the séance and tell me about dinner and the rest of your itinerary.
Can I book comedy magic without a séance?
Yes. I am also a trained comedy and bar magician. Book traditional comedy close-up magic or con games, bar bets, and dice magic. I work from a dedicated performance station so guests can join me on their own terms.
Is this a reading or a promise of spirit contact?
No. This is theatrical séance entertainment using magic, storytelling, comedy, and audience involvement. I do not promise contact with deceased loved ones. The furniture may still receive some very unfair accusations.
Do you travel outside Charlotte?
Yes. I regularly perform in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia, including destination gatherings in Asheville, Lake Lure, Myrtle Beach, and Savannah. Send your venue and date to discuss availability and travel.
How do I reserve the show?
Send your date, venue, and guest count. We’ll agree on the format, setup, and quote. A signed agreement and booking retainer reserve your date; the agreement sets out payment and event terms. No blood oath required. Those are a nuisance to file.
